This is an optional service to enable the backup of CAPTOR content to a network drive or fileshare. Before setting up the service, you must establish a server on your network to receive the content. Additionally, the server must be configured to include folders for each CAPTOR user which can be mapped to.

Your organization's IT Admin responsible for managing users, apps, and devices with BlackBerry UEM has the ability to set up and control this service. They must first enable the service by policy within UEM. The service can be automated or run manually on demand by the end user. Also, CAPTOR can be configured to automatically delete content after it has been backed up - either immediately or on a delayed schedule.

Currently CAPTOR supports backup using BlackBerry Docs, Microsoft OneDrive, SMB or WebDAV data transfer protocols. These settings can be configured in UEM or left to the end user to input in the app. There is a button to test the configuration which presents informative error messages intended to help you determine what might be preventing a successful backup.

To run a manual backup, go to the main folder list view and press the Backup button. If your IT Admin set the backup to occur automatically, it will start with every new session.
